Has anyone successfully restored a Dell PE 2950 using ABR10 Universal Restore

Thread needs solution

I would like to know if anyone has successfully restored a Dell PE 2950 using the ABR10 Universal Restore. I have tried at least 8 times now and no luck. I am on the verge of giving up. I need help with the questions about this universal restore process.

Server specs: Single Xexon processor
4GB of RAM
5 SATA HDD @7.2k

1. Do I choose the Disk or Volume when recovering? What is the difference?
2. How do I find out what is my mobo chipset? Where can i download them?
3. Where can I download the HCL for my Dell PowerEdge 2950?

Thanks-

Hello Chio!

Thank you for your question. I completely understand your concern and will be glad to help you!

In order to find the correct drivers you just need to find out the model of the motherboard, go to the vendors site and download suitable package. After that please contact vendors support in order to extract the drivers to be in *.inf and *.oem format. Place them in one folder and specify the path to them during the recovery process. Should it be just the motherboard that differs from the souce machine, then you won't need any additional drivers or else. Should you have dissimilat RAID/SCSI controller

I would also suggest you to take a look at this Acronis Universal Restore Guide with step by step screenshots: you may find it useful as it shows how exactly the process should look.

Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!

Thank you!
