Hours of my life wasted due to Acronis - acrocmd scheduling

Thread needs solution

Unfortunately as a company we use your product. However, hopefully someone could shed some light on a issue I am having. Currently using Acronis Backup and Recovery 11 Server for Windows, build 11.0.17318.

Due to the ridiculous bug whereby I cannot select network drives from within the GUI I am being forced to use acrocmd. I have the correct syntax for the backup I require but the problem comes when trying to schedule it. I need it to run after a Disk backup so I created a batch file with the relevant acrocmd and set it to run as a post-backup command from within a batch file.

When it runs the batch file, acrocmd just sits there doing nothing, but if I open task manager and kill acrocmd then amazingly the job runs and I can see it from the GUI as a current activity.

I don't want to use the Windows Task scheduler because I need to ensure that the disk backup of the server is completed first. I have tried with and without the silent_mode switch but it makes no difference. Plus I like the fact that I can see it running from within the Acronis GUI and logging etc.

Also do you have a time frame for a release to fix the network backup problem?

Any ideas?

set it to run as a post-backup command from within a batch file.

As it will wait for any current tasks to complete before running the next one, here we have a deadlock. Acrocmd waits for the disk backup to complete and the disk backup is still considered being run while executing its post-command. If you schedule it any time after disk backup, it will wait for it to complete and then work as expected.

So thats why I couldn't see any Network Folders under GUI Backup - Files -
How soon can the Acronis Team get this to be resolved?
Another problem I am facing was the email notification bug. I have five
schedule doing the same job but backup to different backup folder and
so far only wednesday job I received the email notification. The rest of
the other 4 days I will receive none even though the backups were successfully.

Cheong, by coincidence when searching for acrocmd, I found your thread.

Probably the build released in march can solve your issue - in the release notes http://www.acronis.com/support/updates/changes.html?p=10381 I found "Cannot back up files from a network share in some cases."

Also in older builds E-Mail settings were not always saved correctly, when added after creating the backup plan.
Cloning/recreating the backup plans should help.
