How do I get backups to run upon shutdown?

I want to schedule my backups to run as follows:

Full backup on Friday evenings when the computer is shutdown.
Differential backup every other evening when the computer is shutdown.

I tried using the "when all users are logged off" condition, but the computer just shuts down as the backup process is starting. How do I accomplish this?
