How to Extract Files from my TIB on a Stand Alone PC ?

Thread needs solution

Hi, I'm a new user here, so please be gentle !

I thought this would be straightforward, but after searching through this forum and on Google, I still have not found a way to do, what seems to me, a simple and fundemental requirement, namely to plug my USB HDD containing my server's Acronis BU&R10 image into a standalone PC and extract files from it.

Our SBS2008 server has died and it's going to be 24/48 hrs before it's repaired (hopefully). In the mean time I was hoping to pull urgent files from the backup so that users can carry on working, but clearly it is not that simple, as on a standalone PC all I can see is the TIB file.

I loaded the management console onto the PC, but that only wants to connect to the host, which is currently dead !

So how can I veiw/extract files from my backup, I don't need to boot from it, or restore from it, just view/extract data from it, surely that should be a really simple task, so I'm assuming I'm being really dim :)

Regards, Dave B.

If you have console installed the machine, you can double-click on the archive in windows explorer and copy-paste files from it if they are not too large (not several gigabytes)

Hello David,

Thank you for your post, I will be glad to help you!

The image can be explored or mounted only in case you have the Agent installed on the same machine. In your case I would advise you to restore the needed files from the bootable media.

You can download the updated bootable CD from your account, burn it onto the CD and boot your machine from it.

Please let us know if there's anything confusing, we will be glad to clarify and assist you.

Thank you!
