How well does Universal Restore work?
I'm thinking about getting a license for Universal Restore to test restoring to a VM environment. Does anyone have any comments about this?
Thanks.

Well, I'm trying get a "test key" to evaluate it first. After dealing with problems after problems for the past 6+ months, I'm not going to jump into buying another Acronis product unless it works as expected.

Well,
How about this. New Dell T710 installed Windows Server 2003 image from 5 year old Dell 1600 system booted on first try.
Not bad. Not bad at all.

As long as you find the right drivers to insert I have not had issues with it. I have used it on Servers and Desktops.

Hello all!
Thank you for opening the thread regarding this question and for your kind feedback - we really appreciate that!
I just wanted to mention that Acronis Universal Restore testing keys for corporate editions are provided only by direct sales, so in order to obtain it feel free to submit a case starting from here or contact any Support Forum Moderator directly - we will forward your request to Sales department and provide you with the contacts of the Sales Representative.
Also please keep in mind that prior to restoring to new hardware you need also to contact the vendor of the RAID controller (or other mass storage device - e.g. SCSI disk controller, motherboards, etc) and request the latest drivers for this mass storage device.
Then please unpack them from the package they are sent to you, so that the drivers were in .inf and .oem format
The process of restoration is described here (with step by step screenshots), so feel free to check it!
Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!
Thank you
