I cannot access my raid drive using the Acronis startup recovery manager

Thread needs solution

i use a highpoint 3520 raid card and i use 7 HDD (5x500Gb and 2x1Tb).

i have a raid 5 across all the discs (500gb on each)

this leaves 500Gb on the each of the 1tb drives so i have made a Raid 1 for my backups.

i can make backups within windows, but when i checked the startup recovery manager to ensure that is worked - i had access to my raid 5 but not my raid 1. how can i fix this?

i am testing shadowprotect - the recovery disc did not show the raid 5 or the raid 1, but i can load a 32bit device driver from my usb stick and then i can access all my partitions.

I tried a custom ghost 15 recovery disc with a 64bit device driver added - i could access all my partitions

How can i get access to my raid 1 using Acronis?
I am running a 64bit windows

thank you

Hello Tony,

Thank you for posting and I would like to welcome you to our forum. I will definitely assist you with this issue.

It is very likely that the bootable components in Acronis Startup Recovery Manager lack the correct drivers to properly detect your RAID.

I can recommend 2 workarounds. We can try the latest version of our bootable media, I will send you a private message in a few minutes with the download link.

You can also try creating a BartPe bootable media with Acronis plug-in and add your RAID drivers to it.

If you need additional assistance, please let me know.

Thank you.

Thank You for replying.

i had a recovery disc (a linux one) - it shows the raid 5 but not the raid 1

i created a Windows PE disc and added drivers for the raid card (i tried 32bit and 64bit) the disc booted okay but now the raid 5 and raid 1 do not show up.

i think i need some assistance to get a working disc. i download the boot disc from that link that you sent me and tried that - i could see the raid 5 but not the raid 1

thank you

okay here is an update - the Acronis startup recovery manager does not work with my raid 1

- the boot disc that i had made previously with the acronis media builder (linux) does not work with my raid 1

- i made a windows PE disc using the acronis media builder and added the raid driver and i could not see my raid 5 or raid 1

- i tried 32 bit and 64 bit drivers and i could not see my raid 5 or raid 1

- i tried the latest boot disc which you provided a link to it does not work with my raid 1

- i had to use a BartPE builder add Windows 2003 installation files and 32 bit intel raid drivers (for my system disc) and 32 bit drivers for my raid card. i had to edit the txtsetup.oem to make sure it used the correct version.

Using BartPE i can access my raid 5 and raid 1 and backup and recover my system disc

this took 1 day to get working using another persons work (Bart PE builder) to make it work - this is a disgrace.

ghost 15 took 10 mins to run the create disk wizard and add a driver.

shadowprotect allowed me to load a driver from my usb stick - and it worked first time

i don't understand how you acronis media builder doesn't build working media - ghost, shadowprotect and acronis were all using the exact same driver for my raid card and only acronis managed to @#$* it up.

It doesn't fill me with confidence that my backup are save (confidence is very important when you are using backup software)
