Incremental backup, backs-up everything!!?

Thread needs solution

Hi Gang, I need a wee bit of help

I have just done an incremental backup, and from what I have been led to believe by the software, Incremental Backups, backs-up only the changes made to your PC.

Changes I'm referring to are; Work docs, pictures, videos etc; you know, normal everyday stuff.
Instead, Acronis V11 has seemed to of backed-up my entire HDD. Somehow I have not made 120GB of changes (that's with high compression turned on!)

Secondly; why has it made a separate file? As far as I can see, this backup process of incremental processing will generate many annoying files. Why not just one, as if it was mirroring the HDD?

I'm guessing this topic has been explored before, so before you nod off in boredom, I say thank you for reading.

Now where did I put my wine...

One place to start would be item 7H inside my signature index below.

I prefer to perform complete backups manually instead of incremental ones. Is there a way to change the default setting to full backup instead of an incremental backup? I am also a little confused by the checkbox that over writes the previous full backup. I'd like to make full backups and have them as independent files that don't depend on a previous backup file. I'd like to make this a default for ease of use. Is this possible on ATI 2010?

I recently had a bad experience with a ATI 2010 backup. Thank goodness I had another ATI backup from 11/6/09 created as well. For some reason I wasn't able to recover from a 11/8/09 backup, but the 11/6/09 backup worked fine. I like to use full backup files as I stated in the previous narrative.
