Incremental file based backups from command line are too large.

Thread needs solution

I am using Acronis Backup&Recovery (latest build) to do a file based backup from the command line. The incremental backups occur daily, but seem to be very large. The command i use is trueimagecmd /filebackup /exclude_hidden /exclude_system /incremental /filename:w:\chipp\DAILY.tib /use_vss /compression:9 /log:w:\chipp\daily.log /include:c:\ /exclude_names:c:\System~1,c:\temp,c:\junk,c:\old,c:\old2

The daily incrementals are 80-120MB each day which seems very large for one day.

Hello Brian!

Welcome to our Forum and thank you for finding time to open the thread regarding this issue! I understand your concern and will be glad to assist you.

There are dozens of reasons why the incremental backup size is bigger than expected and depends on many factors like what's being backed up, defragmentation, etc. Anyway, 80 - 120 Mb per day is not such a big amount of information.

Still I understand your concern, so in order to check whether everything's functioning normally, please gather Acronis Info from the machine in question and send it to us via support request.

Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!

Thank you.
