Installation Issuie

Thread needs solution

Hello Everyone,

I am having problems installing the trial version of Backup & Recovery Advanced Workstation on my server. Every time I get to the enter Serial Key portion of the installation I enter the serial key that was provided to me but the next button stays disabled. I am currently running Windows Server 2003. If anyone can shed some light on this it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You,
Sean

Sean,

You should probably edit your post and move it to the B&R forum. This is the B&S (Backup & Security) forum.

Are you pasting in the key or typing it in?

My Mistake. Thank You

No problem.

I would double-check everything was entered correctly. If it doesn't think it's a valid key, it remains disabled.

Hello Sean and MudCrab!

Thank you for finding time to report about the issue on Forum!

Dear MudCrab, thank you for your assistance!

Dear Sean, I regret to inform you that ABR Workstation components that requires a license for the installation doesn't support Server OS. There are components that can be installed on any OS without a License Key like Management Console, but Agent installation, which does require a key will fail. So should you need to backup the Server machine, please take a look at the demo version of Acronis Backup and Recovery Advanced Server.

Please also keep in mind that Advanced version uses License Server for assigning the key to the machine. So the installation process looks like:

  1. Installation of the License Server
  2. Adding the Licenses to the LS
  3. Installation of the rest of the components.

I would advise you to take a look at the Installation Guide, you may find it useful. It contains the instructions with descriptions. Feel free to check Quick Start and User's Guide as well!

Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!

Thank you!

Thank you for informing me that ABR workstation does not work with server OSs. If you don't mind I would suggest for the next update that an error be displayed to inform the user.

Thank You Again,

Sean
