Installed a RAID System Recovered Backed Up Partitions but cannot extend beyond 1TB

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I upgraded the RAId disk system of a Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard server. I used Acronis to Backup the RAID 5 existing partions, replaced the hard disks and recovered the backed up data. In Acronis I discovered that I was unable to extend the partition beyond 1TB. The process went well and the server is running OK.

When I call up drive information in Windows 2008 I have:

* Drive C (Layout: Simple, Type: Basic, FS: NTFS, Status: Healty (Boot, Page File, Crash Dump, Primary Partition), Capacity: 1024.00 GB)
* Drive E (Layout: Simple, Type: Basic, FS: NTFS, Status: Healty (Primary Partition), Capacity: 1023.90 GB)
* System Reserved (Layout: Simple, Type: Basic, FS: NTFS, Status: Healty (System, Active, Primary Partition), Capacity: 102.00 MB)
* 744.99GB Unallocated

(Screen shot: https://skydrive.live.com/redir.aspx?cid=fdee6396cabc6ada&page=play&res…)

I would like to add the unallocated amount to Drive E.

Both the Windows 2008 Server Manager tool and a commercial third party product are unable to do this.

Any help on how to resolve the matter would be greatly apprecaited.

If the backup is stored on tape, resize is impossible ( the article is about ABR11, in ABR10 it is the same http://kb.acronis.com/content/21595 ) If it is not, resize may be impossible if there were errors in file system.

Wouldn't the full version of Disk Director be able to accomplish this?
