Intel mobo with RAID-1, create an image?

Thread needs solution

I have an Intel mobo with integrated raid. My system is Windows 7 Pro x64 and is on a RAID-1 volume. I want to image this volume and replace the RAID-1 drives with a single (larger) drive and reimage with the new drive. Can I do this with Acronis Backup & Recovery 10?

Thanks,

Hello Robert,

I would like to welcome to our forum and I want to thank you for posting. I will definitely help you with this question.

You can definitely do this with Acronis Backup and Recovery 10 Workstation.

We will need to consider 2 factors for your scenario. First of all, if your RAID controller is the same, then there is no need to use Acronis Universal Restore which allows you to recover to dissimilar hardware. You can read more about Acronis Universal Restore in this Knowledge Base article. Second, considering a large number of different hardware on the market, it would be a good idea to test our bootable media and see if your RAID is detected. Please note that Acronis Universal Restore can only be used from Acronis bootable media.

You can download the trial version here and in a few minutes I will send you a download link for the trial version of our bootable media, which was updated in the beginning of June and has the latest available drivers.

If you need additional help or have any other questions, please let me know.

Thank you.

Robert,

Take a good look at trial version and try to make restore of some hard drive. I highly recommend trying booting from restore cd and trying to restore image. Make a test. I had and still have plenty of problems with ATI2010.
