Keyboard and mouse does not respond after restore Windows 2003 hp ML 150

Thread needs solution

I just restored windows 2003 server domain controller with universal restore and the system boots fine. Although, when I get prompt to press control alt delete, I get no response from the keyboard or mouse. The chipset hard drive is in compatibly mode. Booting in to safe mode or directory recovery service does not resolve the issue with the keyboard or mouse.

Both the mouse and keyboard are PS/2. I have tried using a USB keyboard but this does not resolve the issue.

I am using build 11345 Acronis Backup&Recovery Server. The controller, chipset. and network drivers were used with universal restore.

What frustrates me is that I did this same process last weekend on another server with same hardware specs. The hardware is brand new and I have tested that the hardware works fine with emergency CD and diagnostic CD. I just booted with boot logging on and I am going use an emergency disk to read the contents of that file.

The old hardware was a p3 ML350 with 512MB of RAM. The new Hardware is an ML150G6 with 2GB of ram. I also have disable some of the cores to see if this would help with zero success. Monday is coming soon so please help if you have any suggestions.

The whole Idea of using the software was to save me time but this has not happened.

Hello John,

Thank you for posting your question, I will be happy to help. Please accept our apologies for the delay with the response.
Actually, the issue you have experienced is rather strange. We do not have any records concerning the similar symptoms in our database. PS/2 mouse and keyboard should be functional anyway. have you tried to recover the archive again? If not, please do it and see if the issue remains. Also I would recommend you to try ISOLINUX Bootable Media.
There are two types of Acronis Bootable Media:
- Acronis Bootable Media that you can generate in your Acronis product. This type of media is based on Acronis Loader;
- Acronis Bootable Media that you can download from your account on the Acronis website. This type of media is based on ISOLINUX.
ISOLINUX Bootable Media is usually more up to date than the Acronis Loader one. This is due to the fact a new version of Acronis Bootable Media is uploaded to the website more frequently than regular product updates are released.
You can find the information on how to download the appropriate ISOLINUX file in this article. Please see this article on how to burn an ISO file to a CD disk.
Please perform the recovery and let us know the results.
If the provided information is not clear or if you have any other question do not hesitate to post them and we will be glad to answer.
Thank you.
