Last backup disc appears blank

Thread needs solution

Hi, I'm trying to use True Image 2010 to create a complete backup of my laptop (Lenovo Ideapad Y500P - Windows 7 64bit). There are two problems I've encountered. I've found a way around the first one, but not the second.

I created a bootable rescue disc and booted up to it. I went to the backup option and set it up to do a full backup of the hard drive (4 partitions) to dvds (4).

The first problem I came across was when it asked for the next disc during the backup. If I put the blank dvd in and press ok immediately then it'll come up with an error and I have the option to retry or cancel. No matter what I do at this point it gets stuck. I can eject and insert a new disc, wait 1 min, and hit retry it'll still come up with this dialog, it won't go on. I figured out that if I wait 30 sec or so after putting the new disc in before I hit ok then it'll continue fine. I figured how to get around this, but it still cost me a few dvds.

After the backup and validation finished successfully I booted again to the rescue disc and selected the restore option. I wanted to make sure the backup was ok. It then has a dialog to select where the image is. I put the first dvd in and selected the file on it (MyBackup1.tib I think it is). It said this isn't the last volume. So I put the last dvd in and went to browse, but the disc appears empty, there are no files listed on the dvd. I put this dvd in my desktop pc and I can see the files on it just fine (MyBackup1.tib, MyBackup2.tib, MyBackup3.tib, and MyBackup4.tib). I can't figure out why true image can't see the files on this disc since it's the same brand and everything as the others.

Thanks for your help

Hello Nick,

Thank you for posting your question, I will be happy to help.

To fix the first issue please try ISOLINUX Bootable Media.
There are two types of Acronis Bootable Media:

- Acronis Bootable Media that you can generate in your Acronis product. This type of media is based on Acronis Loader;

- Acronis Bootable Media that you can download from your account on the Acronis web site. This type of media is based on ISOLINUX.

ISOLINUX Bootable Media is usually more up to date than the Acronis Loader one. This is due to the fact a new version of Acronis Bootable Media is uploaded to the web site more frequently than regular product updates are released.
You can find the information on how to download the appropriate ISOLINUX file in this article. Please see this article on how to burn an ISO file to a CD disk.
About the second issue.
To see the file on the disk please use Browse for backup button at the right upper corner of the Data recovery and backup management window. If this doesn't help, please try to reproduce the same issue on another computer. Let us know the results.
We are looking forward to hearing back from you.

Please let me know if the provided information is not clear or if you have any other question.

Thank you.
