Length of Time to restore

Thread needs solution

I am restoring my hard drive. I started it last night (11/13/09)and it gave me an estimated 8 days to restore. This morning it is down to 6 days to restore. It is restoring 228.1 GB. Is this normal? I know restores take time, but isn't this really too long? Thanks

Hello Raymond,

Thank you for posting your question, I will be happy to help.

Actually, the performance is abnormal,  the operation can take hours, but not the days. What is the build number of the program? Please make sure that you are using the latest build of Acronis True Image 11 Home (#8101).  You can find out the build number by selecting "Help" option, "About". If the build number differs from the latest one, please download and install the latest build. You can learn more on how to download the latest build in this article. Check the performance.

If you perform the recovery from within Windows, I would recommend you to perform the recovery under Acronis Bootable Rescue Media. Acronis Booting Rescue Media is a standalone version of Acronis True Image 11 Home, burned onto a CD and based on a Linux operating system, the behavior should be different in the different environment. You can find out on how to create Acronis Booting Rescue Media on our web site at User guide for Acronis True Image 11 Home (chapter 11).

Please perform the recovery, compare the performance and let us know the results. Please let me know if the provided information is not clear or if you have any other question.

Thank you.

The problem with taking so long to restore the hard drive was a bad hard drive. Once I installed a new hear drive and retried the restore it did the restored in less than 2 hours.
