Login Credential Problems with NAS/s

Thread needs solution

Greetings everyone, first post here on the forums.... was hoping for some help/advice..

I am having a issue with my ABR10 Software. i have a 4x license pack for 4 servers. I have 4x Western Digital 8tb Nas, all plugged into a gigabit switch with the servers. Might not be the most ideal solution but they grew into it over time.

Problem i am having is this, i am CONSTANTLY having to edit the job, to re-enter the credentials over and over and over and over again for all 4 servers every few days. Ill update the credentials, ill get 1-2 maybe three backups, then have to log back in and re-enter the credentials.

I am entering them right, even tried making a specific account for the sharespaces just for acronis, but nothing seems to stick... If it was 1 server/ABR10 doing it, i would be looking in another direction, but for all 4 to be doing it, ALL the time, is a real pain in the butt...

Anyone have any advice for me how i can rectify this?

Many thanks
Mike

just to add too, when i do enter the credentials, and the schedule kicks off as normal or i initiate the backup, it works totally fine without issue or error.

also i am mapping the drive location in the Job as \\192.168.1.x\public\servername
should i be doing it in a different way?

anyone? this seems like it would be a common issue, i have 3 clients/sites now apart from this one that has this problem with sharespaces also. anyone??

I can confirm this problem.
Got ABR10 Advanced Server yesterday along with two new NAS.
None of my backup jobs seems to work. Always asking for credentials and even if i again specify the 100% correct ones it starts over requesting again. This even almost locked me out of the server because account was locked?! due to the several retries.

ABR10 Advanced Server is 100% useless like this. Will try to get the 900€ back.

Have you tried deleting the credentials in Windows Credential Manager attaching the NAS then editing the Task just browsing to the NAS whereupon ABR10 will ask you for the user authorisation, enter them and then ABR10 should be happy thereafter.

Not sure whether win2k3 has the credential manager. However I can access the NAS drives from Windows explorer just fine.
I even created a dedicated User for acronis to connect to the NAS drives but this again wont help.

@Florian,

IF credentials are the problem, Windows will have no problem with them as they will be attached to your log in. ABR10 doesn't use your log in, it accesses deeper down in the OS.

Some things to check:

Are you using a UNC as the path to the NAS in ABR10, Acronis products for the above reason aren't happy with mapped drives as these are per log in rather than per OS?

Is there an Acronis Agent User entry listed as a user on your system?

Are you listed as a member of Backup Operators and Acronis Remote Users groups?

1. I can see you are using credentials as "user@domain", however acronis support "domain\user"

2. Add you local credentials in NAS. Also make sure "Storage Node" service is installed

3. Try to take file backup and see if you are able to take backup. Also try to use bootable media to verify if you are able to take backup.

4. try to mount the drive and take backup

All these steps are just to localize the issue
