Looking for some light to a restore.

Thread needs solution

***Update***
Today, after using mbrautowrite we got an Invalid Operating system message.
***Update***

We use Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 with Universal Restore, build 10,287.

We succesfully backed up and restored a laptop with universal restore. Dissimilar hardware, added a few drivers after the OS loaded and we were done and happy.

We carried on to a production server, the backup was successfull. However we cannot restore it to a hyper-v virtual machine.

The server disk we baked up is in a raid but represents a single disk with 4 volumes.

MBR, C, E, F. (We don't want the F volume since it's emtpy).

When we create a Hyper-V machine with an IDE controller for the HD we can see the disk in Universal Restore but we get an "Error loading operating system" after the job is done. Recovery console fixboot and fixmbr don't work.

When we create a Hyper-V machine with an SCSI controller we cannot see any disks to restore our backup to.

When we try to convert the Archive to a Microsoft Virtual PC we get an error. The knowledge base states that the error can be caused because of user credentials or the users right assingment "Replace a process level token". But neither helped, after trying to convert the Archive to a Virtual PC we get a successfull with warnings task completion.

We don't mind recovering the Server either way, booting the Hyper-V virtual machine with Acronis and recovering from the archive or converting the archive to a virtual PC and moving it to Hyper-V.

Any help is greatly appriciated.

Thanks in advance for your time.

Error log when converting the Archive is attached.

Hello ERF,

Thank you very much for your post. I am very sorry for the delay, but I will definitely assist you in resolving this issue.

I have found a case relating to the same problem with the conversion to a virtual machine, it is marked as closed.

I would really appreciate a comment from you to let me know if the issue is resolved and if not, if I could anything for you.

Thank you.
