Made IMAGE on ext HDD: now which backup method to use?

Thread needs solution

I've made IMAGE of C:\ on new external HDD via USB-2 cable. Now, which backup method to use, assuming this ext HDD is always connected?

My suggestion for a beginning point would be for you to read Item 7H
If you have not created and tested your Rescue CD, also read items 5 & 4.
If you have not done so, you need to boot from the Rescue CD and validate your recent backup.

I think it would also be beneficial if read the various postings under item #12.

Only you can answer your question. Only you know the content or type of data on your drives. Only you know whether a backup made today will suffice if your hard drive fails sometime next week or next month. Depending upon the type of personal data on your computer, you may want to have additional backup copies stored elsewhere. If your external drive is always connected and your computer gets zapped with an electrical jolt, you have just lost your backup and your original. Ask yourself, what are your recovery plans with your data gone. Can it be rebuilt or replaced.

After you have done some research, perhaps you have some more specific questions and the forum contributers will be glad to assist you.
