Management server update fails
We are facing backup issues on several servers so I decided to update B & R to the latest version as a first step, but the install fails while updating the management server component.
Some lines from the log before the error:

The acronis_service user (used to run all services) has full r/w access on HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Acronis.
The full log is attached. Any ideas welcome.

Hello,
The costumer I'm working for did not purchase ABR11 yet - and I'm not sure he will, given the large number of issues with ABR10 and the bad experience with the (lack of) proper support.
Please advice what else I can do.

Hi Balazs
It might be best to log this case with support as it seems no other forum users have been able to help on this issue. In regards to ABR11 you will find the customer most likely have 1 year maintenance and support with he's ABR10 product and could be entitled to a free upgrade to ABR11!
The only other thing I could suggest you try is to extract the 'Management server' MSI install files and try to run the MSI file directly to perform the update, at times this seems to work, I would also suggest making sure no backups, snapshots..etc..etc..a re being run/created during the upgrade process as I have seen some customers backups kick-off and VSS at times causes a pause which can cause the installer to time out when trying to perform the update.
All the best.

you said acronis_service user has necessary permissions, but does the user that runs installer have them too? Also, the name "MsiSetAMSUserPermissionsInstall" makes me think that it may have something to do with granting the user itself necessary permissions (log on as service?)
Also I don't like this one
-1: AMS, msg: AssignUserPermissionsOnSettingsFolder: Failed to create new security descriptor.-
May be it's actually about nothing but nevertheless suspicious.
