MBR error on USB

Thread needs solution

Apparently I have been using m True Image 10 all wrong. I wanted to store my backup on a USB drive and boot from that if needed. Well, I needed to. I went and set the BIOS on my laptop to look for the USB device first. I "thought" via tools I could make that USB drive bootable. When I try to boot from the USB drive I get a "MBR error". The Acronis CD works fine when I can find it. Now what?
Thanks

Hello all,

Thank you for posting your question, I will be happy to help. Please accept our apologies for the delay with the response.

see3ducks,

If I correctly understood you, you have saved the archive to your USB hard drive. Please note that you are unable to boot the system from this file. You should restore the image using Acronis Bootable Media to your internal hard drive.

Insert Acronis Booting Rescue Media and reboot your computer. Please check in your computer's BIOS if booting from removable media (CD-ROM) is allowed and switched on, choose Recovery Wizard and restore the archive. Wait for the operation to be completed, take off the CD and reboot the system. The system should boot into the recovered operating system.
