Thread needs solution

I believe I foung the file on my C drive that was saved. Can I safely remove this file and attemp to backup my drive again on the F file?

Hello Michael,

I understand the question and will do everything possible from my side to give you a clear explanation.

Yes, it will be preferable to delete this backup file and to recreate a new one saving the file to another location. The backup file saved to the same partition which you backed up may have disproportionate size and its integrity is in question.

According to our database, you are using Acronis True Image Home 2010. Acronis True Image Home 2010 stores information about the backup archives in a metadata information database, you must manage backup archives (e.g. delete some of them) by using the program's tools and not Windows Explorer. To manage your backup archives, go to the Data recovery and backup management screen by clicking Recovery on the Welcome screen.

This metadata information database also allows you to identify the archive correctly, i.e. you can easily understand if the archive is the same one that you want to get rid of. You can separate disk/partition backups from file backups and identify the archives by the date of their creation.

Please do not hesitate to ask additional questions if the provided information is not clear or you need a further assistance.

Thank you.

I am using Acronis True Image 2014 and the same thing happened to me. Are there different instructions for the 2014 version. I have already deleted the backup but am unable to use the program. thanks
