Modifying Images

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I want to modify Images made with ABR10 and ATI Home 2010 and save them differential.

When I mount an Image through ABR10 (with the option R+W, not only Read), I replace some files in this Image and umount it. But then a second .tib File appears containing my changes, means the modification is incremental.

How to save the modification to the "main" .tib File? I do not want to handle more then one .tib File, it is essential for my work with Acronis Products, please tell me how to do it.

Hello SQLException,

Thank you for posting. I will certainly help you with this question.

Unfortunately our software was designed in such a way, that if you modify a mounted backup file, an incremental backup will be created to track these changes. I will submit an enhancement request and forward it to our Development team so that they consider implementing the ability to create only 1 full back to track backup changes.

As a workaround, after the incremental backup is created, you can manually consolidate the 2 backups into 1 full backup. Please check page 157 of our user guide which is available here.

If you need additional assistance, please let me know.

Thank you.

Hi. When I try to consolidate my backups it will only let me check the priginal backup and the increments are greyed out.... Help???????

edit: I think it's because I'm using true image home. anyway to work around for that?

Hello Billy,

Thank you for bringing this up. I will definitely help you.

It is possible that this issue occurs because either the backup files are corrupt or created with a different version of Acronis software.

I would really appreciate if you can provide me with additional information:

1. Which program was used to create the backups.

2. Which program is used to consolidate the backups.

3. Please create a few screenshots of your consolidation steps.

4. Where are the backups located?

You can try moving the backup to a different location and check if the issue re-occurs.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.
