Need to do only 2 things with Acronis Backup & Recovery 10.

Thread needs solution

I basically only used 2 things in Acronis True Image Echo workstation ( a great product). So far Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 is the worst product I have ever seen. First off if you came from the Echo software you are lost, there is not even a "CLONE" option on any menu which is my #1 and only thing I want the software to do. Second I want to build bootable usb media, an option which only generates unreadable error codes and points to no solution.

I want:
1. Clone Hard Disk
2. Create bootable USB media with the clone disk option

How do you do this in this crazy new software. While I see it has loads of features (only the virtual maker looks at all interesting), this package seems way too complicated. Do you even talk to your customers, who needs all this functionality?

Have a basic "symantec ghost like" product that only clones and simply. I can't get people to clone using the ECHO product, they will simply delete this software from their machine. HELP

When creating the backup I got error message "Failed to read from sector 77,318,509 of hard disk 'l'
Failed to read the snapshot (0x10C49A)
CRC Error (0x100195)

I had the option to ignore it, which I did. There was one other sector that had a problem and I chose to ignore it as well. The backup completed, hopefully successfully. Is there likely to be any problem if I have to restore my C drive?

I just bought a Seagate FreeAgent external drive but am not using the Seagate Manager software. I am using Acronis True Image Home. Is that likely to cause any problems?

The clone option is hidden under "Disk Management." One way to get at it is via the Navigation pane on the left-hand side of the management console, the lowest most item on the menu listing. When the disk listing appears in the main window select the disk you want to clone and either right-click on it or select from the "Disk Management" menu at the top, "Clone basic disk" item.

Can't assist with creating bootable USB media as I've not messed with it but the bootable CD media has the Disk Management function so it should also be available when creating USB media.

Sounds like your Drive "I" has errors. Try running chkdsk on it (chkdsk /f to fix any detected errors). Then retry the backup.
