Need help to change disk signature

Thread needs solution

I cloned a bootable system drive (Windows 7) and selected the advanced option to copy the disk signature. Now, I no longer need the backup and I want to restore that backup drive to use as a spare drive. Windows 7 does not mount the drive due to the disk signature clash.
QUESTION: How can I either restore the drives original signature (I did nothing to save it) or change it something that is unique and does not clash with any other drive?

I found an answer. Windows includes a command line utility 'diskpart'. Run it and use commands to 'list disk', 'select disk x', 'clean', and 'exit' where 'x' is the number of the drive that will be cleaned. All data is lost and the signature is changed.

This eliminated the disk signature clash with the previous clone and allowed me to connect, format, and reuse the drive for other purposes.
