New Motherboard and Processor
I have purchased a new motherboard, processor, and ram to update my computer.(NEW) Biostar A785GE motherboard and AMD Anthlon 11x2 250 processor socket AM2+ with AMD chips (OLD) Biostar K8M800, AMD Anthlon 3700+ socket 754 with VIA chips. I have two HDD (C with XP sp3)(G with Windows 7 Home). If I plug everthing into the new motherboard will I be able to boot up to my two OS OK? I have a complete image backup of both hard drives in Acronis Secure Zone on HDD(G). If not able to boot what will I need to do? I am running Acronis True Image 11.

Hello George and Jim!
Thank you for opening this thread and for your comments.
George, thank you for your question, I will be glad to answer.
Everything depends on the motherboard's hard drive controller - should it be the same you have a very high chances for successful booting, otherwise most probably OS won't be detected properly. Also please note that some products assigns the licenses to the MAC address of the machine or any other particular hardware, so some of the programs may require reactivation. I would also advise you to contact Microsoft Support for this question.
In case you failed to boot after replugging the hard drive, we will need to restore the image available adding the drivers during the process of recovery, and, as it was already mentioned by Jim, we will need to use Acronis Universal Restore.
Acronis Universal Restore is a special add-on for corporate versions of Acronis True Image that allows you to restore your images to dissimilar hardware. Unfortunately this add-on is available for Acronis True Image Home 2010 only: Acronis True Image Home 2010 Plus Pack. I would also advise you to take a look at this detailed Acronis Universal Restore Guide with the step-by-step screenshots - it contains all the details regarding the recovery process and what drivers you will need to add.
Please let us know should something be confusing or you have any further questions - we will be happy to help!
Thank you!
