No Command Line Tool (Acrocmd.exe) in Version 2011

Thread needs solution

Hey,

i made a script that checks the status of the created plans in Acronis 2011 Backup & Recovery. Worked fine on my test installation. But i have one customer that upgraded from 2010 to 2011 and his installation LACKS the CLI.

How can this be that the command line tool is missing? Is this normal?

Any help on this task would be great because i am rather clueless why this is happening..

Hi,
CLI is an option when installing ABR11, maybe your customer didn't install it.
You could do a setup and install the additional component.
If its installed, you will find it as "C:\Program Files\Acronis\CommandLineTool\acrocmd.exe".

i see :) That is of course not that good in terms of scripting with Acronis.
And thanks for the cmdline Reference.

I can send the customer this :

To install the command-line utility from the .msi file:
1. Run the Acronis Backup & Recovery 11 setup file.
2. Click Extract installation files.
3. Select the check box corresponding to the AcronisCommandLineTool.msi file.
4. Specify the folder where to extract the file.
5. Click Extract.
6. After the file is successfully extracted, click Finish.
7. Go to the folder where the AcronisCommandLineTool.msi file is extracted, and launch the file.
8. Follow the Install Wizard instructions on the screen.

Hi Patrick

The steps you have above are 100% correct, you can also install the CLI tool during the main product install if needed, It's also possible to script the entire install if you need to roll out in a larger environment.

The following might be of use to your customer as well: http://www.acronis.com/support/documentation/ABR11/index.html#11855.html

All the best!
