No disks to restore to

Thread needs solution

I decided to restore my PC to an earlier image today which is proving a little traumatic... (currently on another PC). I fired up B&R v10.0.11345 and started a restore task but when I tried to specify the target partition, the list was blank. See attached screenshot.

I'd decided to restore my PC because I'd recently installed software that appeared to be causing blue screens in Windows 7 so I appreciate all bets could be classed as off but I'd be interested if this was a deeper problem. Will know more once the restore has finished and I'll try creating a test restore from earlier image.

The reason it was traumatic was:

  1. The above problem meant I couldn't create the restore from within Windows
  2. When I created a bootable CD, it reported "Unable to load initial ramdisk. Press enter to continue" and pressing Enter didn't do anything so brick wall #1
  3. I then found an earlier rescue CD I'd created and that booted but the keyboard didn't work. That explains why I wasn't able to press Enter in the above! Reported separately
  4. When the restore finally did get going, it was running very slowly

All of the above is normal with Acronis these days :-(

But this post is mainly about that blank list of drives thus not been able to restore from within Windows.

Cheers, Rob.
