No hard disk recognized fromm bootable CD Acronis True Image 2009

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I have to restore my system with the bootable CD Acronis True Image 2009, but it does not recognize my hard diks.

From the informations I saw in the Knowledge Base, it seems its because this version does not include the SATA drivers.

Some people say that it could be solved by downloading a trial version 2010 of bootable disk.

I did not find where it could be done from.

Can someone help ?

Thanks,

'Trial' bootable iso is not available for direct downloading. You have to download trial version of the True Image ( now it's 2011 version that is generally available) install it, and then make bootable disk using it.

Hello Michel and dev-anon,

Thank you for your comments! Dev-anon, thanks a lot for your help.

Michel, Dev-anon is right, this is one of the way to achieve the goal. Still I just wanted to add that the issue is caused not by the lack of SATA support (2009 version does support SATA drives), but by the lack of drivers in the original media. I would advise you to download the latest version of the bootable media from your account and burn it onto the CD. Thus you will get the updated media, which should recognise your drives.

Please note that Acronis True Image Home 2009 is an outdated product, and it's not supported, developed or updated anymore. Thus we cannot guarantee that it will recognise modern hardware. We would advise you to test the latest version available - Acronis True Image Home 2011. The demo version is valid for 30 days and almost full functional. The only limitations are:

  1. 30 days of work
  2. Clone feature not available
  3. Bootable media can restore only

You might also want to check the User Guide (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/download/docs/) as we have changed the GUI and added some functionality.

Please keep in mind that 2011 version is fully compatible with the backups created by the previos product versions, so you won't have any problems with restoring the images made with Acronis True Image Home 2009.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please, let us know, we will be glad to help!

Thank you.
