No "Resize Partitions" option
Hi,
I have had a happy association with Acronis 11.
But since I migrated to QuadCore SATA hardware,
nothing but problems.
First, the Acronis boot disk wouldn't boot the PC (NEVER had that before)
so I couldn't restore my .tib.
Tried to boot from USB HDD, but XP resets USB port as it loads, so that didnt work either.
So - brainwave - boot off internal SATA HDD to restore other internal SATA HDD. This works, but wont restore to larger capacity drive, just creates partition on target drive same size as source drive, leaving 'dead' space in unwanted partition.
On my old system, Acronis 11 worked perfect. Brilliant.
When encountering different sized drives, it just asked me "do you want to resize partitions" ?
On my new hardware, the exact same Acronis version, on the very same actual CD disk, does not ask that sensible question. It just goes ahead and partitions my drive to suit the source size, after asking "do you want to delete the partitions on the destination drive" (and won't allow the answer "no")
Frustrated ?
Does anyone know what the flip is going on here, PLEASE .......
Fanx
