Not Backing Up - HD Read Failure - HELP!

Thread needs solution

Hi... I have been trying to get this Acronis TI 2009 working on my clients laptop and it is not... on manual and scheduled, it gives an error about 30-60 minutes into the process that there is a hard drive read failure... so I ran a checkdisk and it still gives the same problem. The computer itself is running fine, and through all the scans, there are no viruses or spyware, not obvious anyways.

I have been using it on my PC fine, but I need help on what else can I do with this laptop. Will reinstalling the program help? Is there any way to backup even with read errors? Is it because I am doing sector-sector? I need any or all possibilities, thank you. (btw, I have tried 2 different external drives btw, and same error.)

Hello all!

First of all, please, accept our apologies for the delay with the response. And thank you for taking your time to report about the issue.

Unfortunately at the moment it is hard to identify the reason as we need some additional information, so could you please kindly provide me with the following:

  1. Exact sequence of actions that lead to the problem you report, so that we can reproduce it?
  2. Please plug in the drive you would like to save the backup to and create the Acronis Report. Please download and run it, create a report and send it to us? Please compress the Acronis Report output file into an archive (e.g. with WinZip) and attach to your message by browsing for the archive.
This would provide us with detailed information on the hard disk partition structure.
  3. - Download AcronisInfo
    - Run the downloaded file.

The gathered information will be put in AcronisInfo.zip in the same folder, where the AcronisInfo was saved.

This information will allow us to take a closer look at the Acronis product state and logs.

Please contact us with the info gathered!

Thank you!
