Policy to backup %userprofile%

Thread needs solution

Issue:

I am trying to setup a backup policy that backs up the currently logged in users profile.

Background:

Computer name: jsmith-nb

Current folders in the c:\documents and settings\

admin, all users, bjones, jsmith (plus there could be others)

Problem:

jsmith is the main user for the laptop jsmith-nb and he is the user logged in 99% of the time. I want B&R to backup the c:\documents and settings\jsmith folder. I set the policy to backup using the %userprofile% variable and the issue I am having is that B&R backs up a different profile. There are several profiles on jsmith's computer including one called admin. B&R only backs up the admin profile which has no real user data in it (Even when jsmith is currently logged in). I'm not sure if it is just grabbing the first profile alphabetically or what. Is there a way to do what I want?

Any input would be appreciated.

I just found out that if a user does not have an admin profile on the computer the policy errors.
So somehow the %userprofile% variable is looking specifically for the c:\documents and settings\admin folder.

Any ideas?

Hello Jon,

Thank you for using [[http://www.acronis.com/enterprise/ | Acronis Corporate Products]]

Unfortunately, I am unable to provide you with a solution right now. It is also unclear for me how you have set the backup plan selecting the %userprofile% value as a source for the backup operation. To find the exact reason of the issue we need the step-by-step screen shots of your actions. Could you please show us every step of creating the backup plan?

If you are not familiar with making screen shots, please read the below step-by-step instructions.
- Get to the window which you want to make a screen shot of;
- Hit the (Alt+)PrintScreen button on your keyboard;
- Run Paint usually available in Start\Programs\Accessories or another graphics application;
- Choose Paste command in Edit menu;
- Save the result picture in JPEG format being preferable.
Please attach the screen shots to your next post.
We are looking forward to hearing back from you.

Thank you.
