Problem Adding drivers in bootable media builder with unoversal restore

Thread needs solution

Hello I am Kasinath.

I am using Acronis BAckup & Recovery Advanced Workstation 10 build 11639 with universal restore.

My system is compaq presario 1630il with windows xp professional with sp3(32bit).

I tried to build the bootable media builder-linux-windows presentation.(from management console)

It asked to add windows drivers,I used double driver to backup my drivers.I pointed to the double driver backup directory.

After adding in the next step it showed aliide.sys missing from hdc/primary IDe-channel.

If I use drivermax backup It also shows some driver missing.

What is the way to solve this.

If donot add any driver I could go to next step and build ISO file.

If I use the the bootable media downloaded from the product update page of acronis support(bootable media for acronis B &r 10 advanced workstaion with universal restore)
and used the iso to burn the CD and booted with that it is booted properly and I could take backup of my hard disk partitions.

kindly help in the drivers adding issue wiith the bootable media builder from management console.

Hello KASINATH SUBBARAO,

Thank you very much for your post. I will definitely help you with this.

Most likely, the error message that you are getting when pointing to your double driver backup directory is caused either by a wrong or corrupt driver. I would definitely recommend to obtain the same driver from your hardware's manufacturer's website.

We also have a discussion going regarding Acronis support for the Double Driver application, you can check it here. Although the Double Driver application is able to take out the necessary drivers that can be used for Acronis Universal Restore, we do not support the application nor any issues related to it. That is why I mentioned that the best way to fix this, is to contact your hardware manufacturer for the correct drivers.

You can also boot from the bootable media that you downloaded from your Acronis web-account, and try to begin the recovery procedure. You will be prompted to use Acronis Universal Restore and to provide a path for your drivers location. This is an alternative that you can try doing.

Usually, adding hardware drivers when creating Acronis bootable media from the Acronis Management Console is done, when a user has a lot of identical machines to recover with Acronis Universal Restore. This way, he can avoid pointing to the drivers' location every time he restores.

Please check this article for additional information, I believe it will help you: Restoring to Dissimilar Hardware with Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Universal Restore.

I would really appreciate if you can get back to me in case you have additional questions or experience any issues.

Thank you.

Hi KASINATH,
The fact that one driver cannot be added with double driver, does not mean that you won't be able to carry this job.
Actually , you need just a few(critical) drivers to carry the job.
Ignore the missing driver/s and go on.I also had this problem previously but I could carry the whole thing through.
