Problems with TIB archive

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I backed up my HDD (3 partitions) and next day HDD died. I used Acronis True Image Home 2009 ENG, bootable CD, and external USB 500GB WD HDD. The backup procedure ended without errors. The image has 11 618 222 080 bytes.

After installing OS to new HDD I upgrade to Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Workstation Czech. I need my important data from the archive (2nd partition) and I try to open the archive file in Windows. But I obtain error:
Code: 10 551 303(0xA10007)
Modul: C:\Program Files\Acronis\BackupAndRecovery\mms.exe
Message: specified file not found

I try to recover data from archive using bootable CD (Acronis True Image Home 2009 ENG) and I obtain error message:
Error while opening archive file. This is not the last volume of the backup archive.

I try to recover with bootable CD of Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Workstation CZ and I obtain the same error when I try to recover in Windows:

Code: 10 551 303(0xA10007)
Message: specified file not found

Is there anybody could be able to help me? The data are very important for me.

Hello Oloushek,

Thank you for posting your question, I will be happy to help.

There can be several reasons of the encountered issue.

1) The issue can be related to the improper connection of the USB hard drive. If you use an USB hub, try to connect the hard drive directly. Try another USB port, try the USB port in front of the computer. Copy the archives to internal hard drive and see if the issue remains.

2) The issue can be related to the archive corruption. In this case I would recommend you to copy the archives to internal hard drive and to validate the archive files. If the program detects the corruption, the only way out is to mount the archives or to explore them, this will help to retrieve the necessary data files (you can learn more on how to do it in the User Guide for Acronis True Image Home 2009 available here in chapter 12).

3) The chain of the archives was corrupted. You could accidentally delete or move one of the volumes to another location. If you experience difficulties in identifying the chain integrity, please open the folder

where the archive files are located, create a screen shot (please make sure that the archive names are well-seen) and attach to your next post.

Please do not hesitate to ask additional questions if the provided information is not clear or you need a further assistance.

Thank you.

Oloushek, install the same version of True Image that you used to make the Backup. If the Backup is good, you'll be able to explore it in Windows Explorer.
