Recovering backup from vault to an localy attached eSata drive
The problem:
I have many computers on remote locations, and i want to restore the latest backup to new hardware localy and then place it qhere it will stand after.
I have the hardrive connected to my computer, and want to restore the image to it, then test if the image is ok on the drive before i head out to replace it.
As far as i can see, the only option the management server gives me is to restore it to the actual computer online, and no option to select local hardrives.
Is there any way to restore an image to an local attached usb or eSata drive? So you can take the drive out, and replace defective ones onsite after checking that it works.

Thanks for reply.
So the solution is to get an extra key, to install B&R 11 on the computer? As of now i only have the management console on this computer.
Just a clarification, if i get extra key to use, will i be able to use the local agent to restore any computer to local drive? So i only have to take the drive with me when fixing broken ones in the field.

Hello AK,
Thank you for using Acronis Software.
Let me answer your question:
- For every machine, that you backup or restore, you need an Acronis License. In this case check if you have for every machine, you want to restore a valid license. Please find additional information about this in our Knowledge Base article.
- As Fedor wrote, you cannot perform a backup or restore direct out of the Acronis Management Server. The backup or restore itself will performed every time from the Acronis Agent. As a result you can use your local installed Acronis Agent or Acronis Boot Media to perform the restore.
- If you want to deploy your OS to many machines, where you did not have the valid number of Acronis Backup & Recovery 11 Licenses, you might think about Acronis Snap Deploy 4.0 instead. This tool is designed for deployment operations. You can create a Master Image for your machines, that you can deploy with few steps without installing any Acronis Software on the deployment Target. Also you did not have to extract the HDD from the Machine. You can simple plug the machine to your network and boot it with the Acronis Snap Deploy Boot Media or via PXE Server. Then you can deploy your prepared Images. Find additional information in our Knowledge Base article.
If there is anything else, we can do for you, please let me know.
Thank you.

Thanks for the reply.
Will get an extra license to use on local computer for restore purpouses.
Have valid license for all the clients and servers we use Acronis on, so it is just to ease the restoring of failed computers.
