Recovering MS document template files

[Working with ATI 10 Home, Windows XP Pro, and MS Word 2003: hard drive just wiped and programs and My Documents re-loaded]. I recall that my precious document templates had been created [buried!] within Local Settings. I do have a year-old backup of "Application Settings". Should I be able to restore this harmlessly (to an isolated location?) and find at least most of my Word document template files in it? (I have looked though Forum topics, but have not found such detail).

Luckily, after a month, I can at least answer my own question, if anyone is interested. Yes, an Acronis backup of Application Settings can include the Word templates that you have personally crafted and accumulated over the years! And no, you don't have to Restore to retrieve them. Simply use the Acronis Explore function to find them in your latest backup of Application Settings and (with Administrator privileges) Copy & Paste them back into Documents and Settings/.../Application Data/Microsoft/Templates.
