Recovery Boot CD fails to load properly

Thread needs solution

I'm using TI8 on an HP XP Home sp3. TI installed ok and backed up ok. On booting with the CD I created, the initial TI splash-screen appears but after 10secs the screen goes blank and nothing ever happens from then on. Thus access to my backups isn't possible.
The CD works ok on 2 other pcs I have. Any ideas please?

It could be some piece of hardware you have on that system. If you have any usb devices, including hubs and card readers, disconnect them temporarily and see if it solves the problem. If you are using a wireless keyboard/mouse and can substitute the standard types, do so and see if it helps.

Hello all,

Thank you for using [[http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/ | Acronis True Image]]

Don,

Please try the following workaround:

- Boot the computer from Acronis True Image bootable rescue disc (Full version);
- Hit F11 key after the "Starting Acronis Loader..." message appears and you get to the selection screen of the program;
- After you get the "Linux Kernel Settings" prompt, please add "acpi=off noapic" parameter (without quotes) to the end of the Linux kernel command line (so it will be "quiet acpi=off noapic");
- Click OK button.

Also you can upgrade you license to Acronis True Image Home 2010. A better hardware compatibility has been implemented for this version.

I may recommend you to install a trial version of Acronis True Image Home 2010 available here in order to make sure that the program runs flawless for you.

If you would like to purchase the upgrade to Acronis True Image Home 2010, please visit the Acronis online store.

Thank you.
