Recovery Manager

Thread needs solution

Hi all
I'm definitely a newbie so please bear with me
Windows XP Pro
Acronis True Image 2009

Yesterday my computer hung on startup. It reached the point where it read on the screen "Verifying DMI pool data" and then stopped.
I entered the BIOS and changed the boot to CDROM Put thje Acronis Recovery Manager CD in and was able to get my PC up and running with everything seeming to work OK
I do not want to have to use the disc everytime I boot my PC.
My last full backup was 5th Dec
I tried to restore MBR and whilst that was succseful It did not solve the problem
I was able to read the first sector on my HDD and it told me that NTLDR was not able to be read (I cannot recall where in Acronis I read the sector)
Tried to replace the NTLR and NTdetect.com files in case they were corrupted but that didn't fix the problem.
Is there anyway that Acronis will fix the problem?
If I restore the whole C drive from backup will this work?

Please advise
Thanks
Phil

i don't know f I made myself clear so i'll try asgain since no one has replied - not even to tell me that this is not an Acronis issue.
I feel that if Acronis Recovery Manager can get me to windows and everything runs properly, then Ther must be something Acronis is doing that (even temporarily) fixes my problem. If it can overwrite my boot sector or use an uncorrpted one, then why can't it replace my boot sector with a good one? the disk must have some file/program that fixes it. Why doesn't it stay fixed?
Please can someone respond-even to tell me that this is not an Acronis issue and I'll go away and find another way of resolving my problem.

BTW, I'm scared of using Acronis after readind so many negative comments. I used windows backup to resotore my disc after trying windows repair. (which didn't fix the startup problem but everything restored fine.)
Perhaps I'll just format my disc, get rid off Acronis and use windows to backup and replace my programs.
