Recovery 'Operation Progress' stuck on '1 day remaining' ???

Thread needs solution

Trying to 'recover' Acronis 'full-differential' backup from external HD to new laptop 160gb HD (old 120gb HD crashed and Dell sent new one on warranty).

1. loaded original Dell laptop software, including OS (XPpro) and drivers, onto the new Dell replacement HD
1. loaded Acronis10 from original program disk
3. started 'recovery wizard'
4. recovery is from external HD with Acronis differential backup 'E:\... \Acronis-CtoM750-091008_tbd12.tib' including all previous differential backup files and the original full backup file in same folder.
5. started recovery process (off-line) and currently have 'Operation Progress' window on the laptop screen (after 2nd step reboot per instructions) which shows '1 day remaining', 12 hours after started with same message showing (and not progress % bar showing)... appears to be stuck, cursor not moving and 'Cancel' highlighted, but when punch 'Enter' does not cancel.

What to do next ?

Ps edit:
1. getting ready to shut down laptop
2. will make sure Wdos firewall is disabled
3. restart Wdos and start Acronis recovery wizard
edit...
4. Wdos would not start, white on black error message 'trouble with OS'
5. reformating HD with Dell OS disk and plan to reload Wdos & Acronis10, then start recovery wizard and try again.
6. ...any other suggestions ???

The last digits will show you the build number. if the build number differs from the latest one, please download and install the latest build. You can learn more on how to download the latest build in this article. See if the issue remains.
If the issue persists, please use Acronis Bootable Media to perform the recovery. Acronis Booting Rescue Media is a standalone version of Acronis True Image 10.0 Home, burned onto a CD and based on a Linux operating system.

Thank you for the reply.
This post was supposed to be a separate question, but it turns out to be part of the overall discussion at...
http://forum.acronis.com/forum/7523.
That discussion describes a long process of ups and downs in trying to replace my laptop HD.
All seems to have turned out ok in the end... if there ever is such a thing with PCs :)
Thanks again for your followup.
