Reserve Free Space on Storage Node / Vault
Does anyone know if its possible to reserve storage space (free space) on a storage node / vault to stop acronis from utilising all the storage. I have noticed that Acronis has the ability to take out storage servers/ nas devices because it utilises all the storage space.

As I understood, the idea is to set the limit per vault - say, we have a 2-Tb NAS, we create a vault (managed?) on it and set a limit of 1 Tb on it, and when it reaches 1 Tb, it fails to backup to it any more or triggers cleanup as if it was a 1-Tb NAS, but the other terabyte is left intact for whoever else uses it. Retention rules are either triggered by free space - and the free space will be reported as 2 Tb at the very beginning, so it will eat up all 2 Tb for backups and only then will start cleanup -- or are time-based and have to be fine-tuned manually based on expected backup size.
And yes, now it's impossible.

Hi Dev-anon
I might have to do some testing with the size setting in ABR as generally I’ve always used the time based retention rules such as after ‘x’ amount of backups...etc..etc.. So don’t have much experience with the sized based rules.
From what I understand when setting up a size limit this will be based on a backup level and not a vault level. For example if you are backing up 3x servers you are able to say you do not want either server to use up any more than 200GB of space (meaning it can use upto 600GB of storage space with the 3 servers being backed up).
I could be reading it wrong and will try and get some testing done but this is the way I understand the size limits to function in the ABR product.
Others who already use the sized base setting please feel free to comment and share your findings.
