Hi Community,

could someone please help me to install Acronis Backup & Recovery 11?
We have 2 Servers

1) sr01acr
Here we would like to install
Acronis License Server,
Acronis Backup & Recovery 11 Managment Server and
Acronis Backup & Recovery Manangment Console

2) sr01sql
Here we have a installed SQL 2008 Server
Servername: sr01sql
Instance: MSSQLServer

We created a database and the User sqlconnectacronis with passwort to authenticate.
Der User is dw_owner for the DB: acronis
DB: aconis
User: sqlconnectacronis
Passwort: xxx

So during installation on sr01acr i select "Use existing SQL server"
Instance name: XB01SQL\MSSQLSERVER
Use SQL server authentication:
User: sqlconnectacronis
Passwort: xxx

After clicking OK, i get following error:

Code: 08323088

Message: Can not open ADO connection 30 times

Suberror

Message: [DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (ParseConnectParams()).]Ungültige Verbindung.

What is my fault? Thanks to all for help! EDIT: After selecting just sr01sql for instance name and not sr01sql\MSSQLSERVER we get following error: Acronis Backup & Recovery 11 Management Server Code: 08356355 Line tag: 0x5538f731ab695dc Message: Suberror Code: 01 Line tag: 0x60ae23eb1e04dfd7 Message: Query 'SELECT SUBSTRING(physical_name, 1, CHARINDEX(N'master.mdf', LOWER(physical_name)) - 1) FROM master.sys.master_files WHERE database_id = 1 AND file_id = 1' didn't return any record.

Issue resolved here.

Required db name is not arbitrary, necessary DBs are listed in http://kb.acronis.com/content/27332 . It would be better to allow this user to create databases there.
Are names in 'sr01sql' and XB01SQL\MSSQLSERVER actually different (sr.. vs XB.. )
Instance name should be sr01sql\MSSQLSERVER , not machine name alone. Maybe your sql server is set up with restrictions that are not allowing connecting

xb01sql should be sr01sql, was my fault when i created the post

back to topic:
i added the sqlconnectacronis in db-server to sysadmin and used as db-server name: sr01sql

it worked :) ..... after that i removed sysadmin-rights for user sqlconnectacronis.
