restore fails - error E0055001E
Reloaded Windows vista before using Acronis True Image home 2009 to recovery data. Restore failes producing error code E0055001E. Can not restore system state version is incompatible with this archive. I performed backups prior to reloading windows. Please advise.
I flashed Bios after backup and before restore. Could that be the cause of this ?
Since there is no way for me to determine what state of upgrade vista was in would it be possible to perform a backup of new OS and consolidate it with previous backup taken prior to the rebuild ? Would I then be able to restore files ?
Simple solution to this error message - after OS has been reinstalled and all updates applied, install Acronis. Perform a full backup of system OS. When backup is complete go to manage my backups and consolidate before and after backups. Restore system using Consolidated backup.
