Restore not possible if backup set contains >65K objects?

Thread needs solution

Created a backup job to backup my network drives (NAS appliance, no other way to backup)
TEsted before with one share - everything worked fine (backup and restore)
Then added all necessary shares to the backup. After a couple of days tested again and restore didn't work at all. When trying to make a selection of files, the "Acronis Managed Machine Service" (mms) crashed.
Contacted support - as most of Acronis users already know - no aswer except the standard machine generated mail. A week ago.
I did some additional testing. Vault verification - OK. Restore not possible immediately after 1st full backup. Performed some smaller backups also with large files > 2GB - works fine. When checking the details of the initial job, I recognized, that the number of files is ~67000.
Oh! The Magic number 65768 (16 Bit counter). Reduced somewhat the number of files in the backup job (somewhat about 63000 files and 2500 directories - slightly below the Magic Number). And, oh wonder, restore (selecting files) works fine. The next inremental backup doesn't work again!
I'm not sure, if this will also happen with a volume level backup.

Hello Johann,

Thank you for posting your question, I will be happy to help.

Please execute the below actions to resolve the issue:

1) Please manage a new recovery task specifying the full UNC path instead of mapped drive at Backup Archive Selection window.

2) Please set Recovery priority to High in default recovery options (Options -> Default backup & recovery options -> Default recovery options -> Recovery priority).

3) Try to vary the Interval between attempts and Number of attempts values in Error handling in default recovery options.

If the issue remains, please obtain the below information and attach to your next post:

1) Download AcronisInfo file ;

Run the downloaded file. The gathered information will be put in adv_report.zip in the same folder, where the AcronisInfo was saved. Running AcronisInfo may take up to 5 minutes.

2) Please provide us with the copy of the folder located at C:\ProgramData\Acronis or C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Acronis

3) Let us know the exact model of your NAS drive.

We are looking forward to hearing back from you.

Please let me know if the provided information is not clear or if you have any other question.

Thank you.
