Restore is taking forever
I have an XP SP3 system running True Image v.11 build 8101. I've made a full backup of my system and a number of incremental backups over the past number of months, all to an external USB hard drive. XP has gotten to where it locks up very shortly after boot up and the only way to function is go into safe mode. I tried to do a restore from within safe mode but it wouldn't schedule it, so I made a boot disc and started the restore that way.
It's been over an hour now and it does not show any progress in the progress bar...either the current operation or the total progress. Is that normal? It doesn't seem like it would be. I'm not sure if I've done something wrong or not. This is the first time I've ever had to do a restore.
Any ideas or suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Michael

I have not given that a try. I will do so this evening and see how either of those two options work.
My biggest concern was that I was being too impatient, but I felt like an hour & half was certainly long enough to start seeing some progress.
Thanks for the reply.

Awesome that this came up! I've been having the same problem!! I'm using XP SP3 also, but am running TI 10.
About a week ago I made a complete backup of my 240GB drive (divided into 2 partitions). This is also the system drive. Everything went smoothly, and I verified the backup fine. The TIB was saved to my other internal drive (650GB)
Last night I decided to restore the drive because it apeared that some new drivers I downloaded and installed weren't playing nice and causing an incredible lag in shut down time. No problem, right??? Well, I started it about 7PM last night, and as of last time I checked this morning at 7AM, it was only 3/4 the way through Step 2 of the restore!!! 12 hours and it's telling me there's 3 hours to go???
What in the world is going on here? Any thoughts?? I've never had a problem like this before...

Slow restores are usually caused by non-optimal Linux drivers. Hopefully, it will finish successfully.

Have you restored the archive from within Windows or under Acronis Bootable Rescue Media?
Please make sure that you are using the latest build of Acronis True Image Home (#4942). You can find out the build number by selecting "Help" option, "About".
