Restore/Convert 64 bit Acronis Echo 10 tib to vhd using Acronis 11

Thread needs solution

I have some old tibs that I want to convert to VHD, but needed the Virtual Addition to do it.

So I upgraded one of my Servers to Acronis 11 Virtual .... but it does not see my Acronis 10 tibs...

Am I doing something wrong? Do I need to be under Hyper V to do it?

Thanks

Hello Jack,

Welcome to our Forum, we're glad to greet you here. The situation you've described can be really confusing, and I would like to help you.

In order to convert the archive to the VHD (or a virtual machine) you do not need the virtual edition: this operation can be performed by any ABR10 or ABR11 version. You can find the information on how to perform this operation here:

  1. In ABR10: User's Guide, chapter 6.3.10, page 237
  2. In ABR11

The backups cannot be recognized due to the various reasons: failure to access the meta folder or to access the backup location, etc. I'm sure we would be able to assist you if you could let us know the backup location, exact sequence of steps you perform and Acronis Info from the problem machine.

Let us know if you have any additional questions, we will be glad to help.

Thank you.
