SERVER HANG: ATIES with Universal Restore v9.7.8203

Thread needs solution

:(

I havent got a chance to simulate DR thru Rescue Disk Media. I dont know if i did something wrong or didnt do something that is necessary on the procedure.

Here is what i did:
- Install Acronis TI Enterprise Server v9.7.8203 and Universal Restore
- Create Bootable Rescue Media on CD disk (thru GUI- windows)
- Create Full Backup of the "My Computer" test server (C: D:) Partitions
- then choose external USB disk as "Backup Archive Destination" (G:\MyBackup.tib)
- everthing goes fine and backup successful..
- I reboot the server, boot the server thru newly created "Bootable Rescue Media" CD disk.
- choose "Acronis True Image Echo Enterprise Server (FULL VERSION) -OR- Acronis True Image Echo Enterprise Server with Universal Restore (FULL VERSION)" but the server hangs "blank screen" and its not responding!
- i noticed that everytime i choose any on the menu with (FULL VERSION) the serverhangs.
- but if i choose (SAFE MODE) in any of the software on the menu it works BUT ofcourse it will not support or will not detect/ see the attached external USB which my TIB archive file located.

i need your help and we want this ACRONIS to be our hero in the time of disaster.

Thank you.

Hello Roger,

Thank you for posting your question, I will be happy to help. Please accept our apologies for the delay with the response.

You should update Acronis Bootable Media.

1) I noticed you are not using the latest build.  You may want to update the build, the latest build contains the latest drivers that may help to solve the issue and it is generally a good idea to be up to date.

You can learn more on how to download the latest build here. Install the latest build, recreate Acronis Bootable Media and see if the issue remains.

2) I suggest you to try ISOLINUX Bootable Media. Please log in to your account, go to the Registered products and downloads section -> Bootable media (please note that the license should be registered).

Download the file, create ISOLINUX Bootable Media and check its' functionality..

You can find the information on how to download the appropriate ISOLINUX file in this article

There are two types of Acronis Bootable Media:

- Acronis Bootable Media that you can generate in your Acronis product. This type of media is based on Acronis Loader;

- Acronis Bootable Media that you can download from your account on the Acronis website. This type of media is based on ISOLINUX.

ISOLINUX Bootable Media is usually more up to date than the Acronis Loader one. This is due to the fact a new version of Acronis Bootable Media is uploaded to the web site more frequently than regular product updates are released.

Please see this article on how to burn an ISO file to a CD disk.

Please let us know the results, we should be sure that the program runs flawlessly. If the provided information is not clear or if you have any other question do not hesitate to post them and we will be glad to answer.

Thank you.
