Simple BackUp error mms.exe ?

Thread needs solution

Hello,
I have installed B&R 10 with universal restore on 1 pc. I try to backup on an Usb hdd connected on an other Pc in lan. The backup always fails with the same "partitions error" and something about $module code error 2 mudule 218 lineinfo:600f7166ce397da7.
Is it so hard to make a "simple" backup ?
Please help me ? I have to install this program on 4 other pcs.

Hello,

Thank you for the provided information, I will be happy to help.

Paolo,

To resolve the issue please download, unpack and install SnapAPI Build 512.

After the installation of SnapAPI Build 512 you will be asked to reboot the machine. You can either reboot the machine, or ignore the message and restart the Acronis Managed Machine Service by doing the following:

- Hit Start-Run and type in services.msc;

- Right-click on the Acronis Managed Machine Service and select Restart.

See if the issue remains. If the issue still persists, please download Acronis Report utility available here and run it, create a report and attach the file to your next post. Please compress the Acronis Report output file into an archive (e.g. with WinZip) and attach to your message by browsing for the archive.

This would provide us with detailed information on the hard disk partition structure.

cos,

Unfortunately, it is unclear what you are trying to do. Could you please describe in some words the operation? However from what you have provided this may be the possible solution:

Please check the in the Folder options (Right-click on  C: \ Documents and Settings \ All Users \ Application Data \ Acronis \  -> Properties -> Security) that the Acronis Agent user has the appropriate permissions.

Also please see this article for more information about the required user permissions.

We are looking forward to hearing back from you at your earliest convenience.
Please do not hesitate to ask additional questions if the provided information is not clear or you need a further assistance.
Thank you.

Hello all,

Thank you for the provided information.

Paolo,

The file system contains errors. Please do the following to get rid of them:

- Go to the Command Prompt (Start -> Run -> cmd)

- Enter the command: "chkdsk DISK: /r"

where DISK is the partition letter you need to check.

Please note, that checking the C: drive may require you to reboot the machine.

After that please try to perform a backup again. If the issue remains, please obtain a new Acronis Report file and attach to your next post, I will check the hard drive.

Cos,

I have asked the appropriate staff to take care of the request, she will contact you shortly. If you need a further assistance, please post the requested information, we will do our best to help you.

Please let us know the results, we are looking forward to hearing back from you at your earliest convenience. Please do not hesitate to ask additional questions if the provided information is not clear or you need a further assistance.

Thank you.

Hi Oleg,

same problem here.
Even after installing SnapAPI Build 512 I get the error message saying "Runtime Error! Program: [path_to_backup_and_recovery]\mms.exe" from MS Visual C++ Runtime Lib.
I did run the AcronisReport.exe (see attached txt file) and hope that you can help me on solving the problem. ;)

Thanks in advance,

Hermann Herbert
