Spurious Backups
I've scheduled regular backups, both full and incremental, which back up quite successfully. However, each day a backup is scheduled the normal one goes through and then 2 or 3 others start and are of course unsuccessful, leaving me with a 'failed' red square on the relevant dates. When I go into the Log and manually delete these ghost backups the square turns green!
I have tried deleting all scheduled backups and resetting the schedules but the ghost backups still appear. Can anyone help this technological moron please?

Hello Victor!
Thank you for posting this question, I entirely understand your concern and will be glad to help you with the problem!
Unfortunately due to the lack of investigation information it is difficult to identify the reason, but all points to the issues with the Acronis Scheduler, responsible for creation and execution of the tasks. Let's update it according to this article, and reproduce the problem.
Should the issue persist, we will need to take a closer look at the issue, so could you please kindly provide us with the following?
- The log of the "ghost" backup
- Windows System Information file
-
Get Acronis Scheduler Report:
- Download either the EXE file or ZIP archive;
- Copy the schedmgr.exe file to the root of your C: drive
- Click Start -> Run, type in cmd, press OK and issue the following command:
C:\schedmgr get report > C:\schedreport.txt
-
-
Get Acronis Scheduler Log:
- Run the schedmgr.exe file by double-clicking it;
- Enable logging by using the following command:
set logflags support
- Reproduce the issue;
- Acronis Scheduler Log will be named schedul2.log and placed to \Program Files\Common Files\Acronis\Schedule2
-
-
Also please kindly gather Acronis Info.
- Download AcronisInfo Tool
- Run the downloaded file.The gathered information will be put in AcronisInfo.zip in the same folder, where the AcronisInfo was saved.
This information will allow us to take a closer look at the Acronis product state and logs.
After that please kindly contact one of moderators with the information gathered, we will review it and provide you with the solution.
Thank you in advance for cooperation!
