symantec blocks installation of windows agents

We have discovered that when we try to install the agent on pcs we get an error. It says it will finish the install on reboot but it doesn't. When we try to add to the ams on the server it says it can't connect with the pc. Disabling symantec doesn't work. Does anyone have any ideas?
we are using Back up and recover advanced workstation 2011 and symatec endpoint protection

You should have a symantec log that tells you the reason it is being blocked. You may have to except the acronis install executable from that rule, or remove that rule altogether. sounds like what is being blocked is either "register to autorun" or one of the .dll tamper prevention mechanisms.
