Synology NAS client is not listed under "Machines with Agent"

Thread needs solution

I have added a new Synology NAS device to my Acronis Cyber Cloud account.

The agent has installed correctly and the device status is Online.

However, it is not included in the "Machines with Agent".

I would like to restore data from a Windows machine to this device, but am not able to because the Restore process does not give the NAS as an available restore device.

Hello Bob!

What's the exact name of the product you use?

Did you installed a regular agent in the NAS or the Synology agent?

With Agent for Synology, you can back up files and folders from and to Synology NAS devices: https://www.acronis.com/en-us/support/documentation/CyberProtectionServ…

If you are trying to recover a full disk backup in the NAS it's expected that's not detected as that operation isn't supported on the user-guide mentioned above.

Also note: You can recover a backup to the original or a new location on the NAS device, and to a network folder that is accessible through that device. Backups in the cloud storage can also be recovered to a non-original NAS device on which Agent for Synology is installed.

If the issue persists and those pre-requisites are met, please raise a ticket with our support at https://kb.acronis.com/content/8153

Thanks in advance!
