Tape based vault - Failed to get metadata

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I am running Acronis B&R 11.5

It seems that my tape based Vault has corrupted metadata.

This Storagenode was restarted since couples of days. After this unplanned restart of the storagenode server it is not possible to get access to this Vault via the acronis gui. The replication/cleanup process of this location get failed. If i login to the commandline of this vault i can browse in the windows explorer to the .meta directory and could see that the files are available.

Strange things that on this storagenode other configured Tape vaults are working so only one tapevault is not working.

could it be that during this unplanned reboot of this StorageNode Server a replication process was interrupted and this causes the corruption of the metadata?

Any help would be welcome!

This is the message from the configured tapevault:

Hello Michael,

Thank you for your posting! Please make sure there are no .tmp files in the meta folder, as described in the following article. How many tapes are associated with this vault? If the issue persists, I'd suggest creating a new tape-based vault and testing the backup. If everything is OK, you can then delete the old vault and rescan the tapes contents to the new vault. If there is large amount of data on the tapes and you don't need all the backups to be present in GUI, you can rescan only current tapes, that will be used for daily operations. If you'll need the data from other tapes (e.g. for recovery) - you can rescan the needed tapes just before recovery.

Thank you,
