TI 8 recovery

Thread needs solution

I have a backup with TI8 disks. I installed TI10, but need to recover I386 system files from the disks. Can I do this and how?
(SFC indicates I have some corrupted files and, of course, the W XP disk will not work)

Hello Jim,

Thank you very much for your post. I will definitely assist you with your question.

You can definitely restore your files using Acronis True Image 10 Home. Click on the Restore Data Wizard and select the backup file. Select a folder on your computer where you want to restore selected folders/files (a target folder). You can restore data to its original location or choose another folder, if necessary. Select files and folders to restore. You can choose to restore all data or browse the archive contents and select the desired folders or files.

Select the options for the restoration process (that is, restoration process priority, file-level security settings etc.). You can Use default options or Set the options manually. The next selection allows you to keep useful data changes made since the selected backup was created. At the final step, the restoration summary is displayed. Up to this point, you can click Back to make changes in the created task. Clicking Proceed will launch the task execution.

You can also check page 37 of our User guide for more detailed instructions.

You can also create a bootable rescue disk with Acronis True Image 10 Home and follow the same procedure as mentioned above.

However, there is a possibility of your system becoming unusable, especially if you applied a Windows Service Pack after backing up the I386 system files.

Please let me know if there is anything else I can do for you.

Thank you.
